Company Description:
Our client, a leading provider of tools, equipment, and support services to a huge range of industries across the UK and Ireland, supplying over 9,000 items of equipment; from industrial generators and cranes, right down to carpet cleaners and floor sanders, and everything in between.

About the Role:
As the Fitter you will service and repair our full range of hire equipment and tools, maintaining the quality, safety, reliability, and availability of hire stock in a cost-effective manner.

You will maintain and ensure maximum workshop productivity in line with company targets, complete statutory inspections when required while adhering to damage process, ensuring product damage is highlighted to company guidelines on Health & Safety at Work.

Responsibilities
Health & Safety
o Advise on any product defects with regards to health and safety and reliability of equipment.
o Carry out daily and weekly internal audits to ensure equipment quality is maintained.
o Make sure you work in a tidy, clean environment and adhere to all the company’s safety guidelines including wearing of personal protective equipment and company overalls.
o Champion HSEQ to safeguard the interests of the business, our people and customers.
o Log any/all safety observations with the Workshop Supervisor or via the reporting app
o Report any recurring health and safety issues with equipment to your manager.

Compliance
o Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor when spare parts are required to ensure cost effective repairs.
o Advise the Workshop Supervisor of repairs covered under warranty.
o Follow internal test and run / repair processes prior to uploading on to internal computerised system to ensure product quality is maintained.
o Ensure service records are maintained and updated onto the internal computerised system (Spanner/ DSP) and daily worksheets are populated.
o Adhere to the damage process and ensure product damage is highlighted.
o Ensure that all equipment is cleaned to the highest standard ready for hire.
o Adhere to all safety accident management system (SAMS) and safety updates/ technical bulletins.
Customer Service
o Routine service and repair of all hire equipment and products including electrical testing and
inspections where required.
o Carry out refurbishment of equipment and products where necessary.
o Maintain and ensure maximum workshop productivity in line with company targets.
o Carry out other tasks and duties as required, including assisting in other departments when
necessary.
o Promote teamwork between colleagues across all HSS locations, to ensure delivery of an effective workshop performance.
o Manage operational priorities through testing of required equipment.

Candidate Requirements:
Experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
Possess a positive attitude, solution driven mindset, with good problem-solving skills.
Have strong communication and organisational skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and numerical skills are essential, and any experience with manual handling will be beneficial.

Desirable Experience:
Experience in maintaining Powered Access Equipment (ie Booms, MEWP, IPAF, etc.).

Hours
45 Hours per week Contract – Either 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm Mon to Fri
Every second Saturday 8am-1pm

€45K
Use of Company Van outside of work hours
