Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for the transport industry? ISM Recruitment is delighted to partner with our client to recruit for the role of Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) to lead the finance function, ensure compliance, and drive financial strategy in a well-established transport and logistics company based in North Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial reporting, producing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in line with Irish GAAP and IFRS.
Ensure compliance with transport-specific regulations (e.g., fuel tax, tachograph compliance) and statutory filings (VAT, payroll taxes).
Lead budgeting and forecasting, incorporating transport cost drivers like fuel, fleet maintenance, and driver wages.
Maintain robust financial controls, overseeing month-end processes and transport-related expenses.
Manage and mentor a finance team, fostering accountability and excellence.
Monitor cash flow to support operational needs, including fleet maintenance and fuel procurement.
Analyse transport KPIs (e.g., cost-per-mile/kilometre) to drive cost efficiencies and support fleet upgrades.
Collaborate with senior management and operations teams to align financial strategies with business goals.

Candidate Requirements:
Must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
Proven experience (3-5 years post-qualification) in a financial control role, with 2+ years in the transport/logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, IFRS, and transport-related compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in financial software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience with transport-specific tools (e.g., telematics, fleet management systems) is preferred.
