Who Should Attend?

The course is designed for any individual who holds a full car licence and wishes to work as a professional bus or truck driver. It is a legal requirement that all new drivers of C1, C1E, C and CE vehicles (trucks) and D1, D1E, D and DE vehicles (buses) complete Driver CPC training and pass a theory and driving test with the Road Safety Authority according to European Communities Regulations. Where a person wishes to take out a learner permit or a driving licence in categories C, CE, under 21 years or D, DE under 24 years, then they must complete CPC even where they do not wish to drive professionally.

If you completed your Truck or Bus Driving Test AFTER SEPTEMBER 2009, did you complete your Initial CPC Training and receive your Driver Qualification Card?

If not, please do not proceed to book and refer to www.theorytest.ie.

What Qualifications Will I Receive?

All trainees will receive an ISM Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course.

CPC Refresher Requirements

All CPC cardholders must do 35 hours of periodic training every five years to keep their Driver CPC to drive a truck or bus. To keep compliant with Driver CPC training, cardholders will have to attend one unique training module per year over five years.
