Our Novice Special Package includes training and certification across all 3 of our warehouse vehicles – Counterbalance forklift, Reach Truck and Power Pallet Truck. The Course takes place over 5 successive days, starting on a Monday and finishing on a Friday.

Our new purpose-built Forklift Training Centre is fully equipped with the latest Counterbalance, Reach and Power Pallet trucks. All ISM Forklift and Warehouse Training is accredited, and instructors are approved by the RTITB.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for beginners looking to acquire the basic operating skills and certification necessary to operate the three most common forklifts – Counterbalance, Reach Truck and Power Pallet – in a safe and competent manner as outlined in Irish Health & Safety Legislation.

What Qualifications Will I Receive?

All trainees will receive an ISM Certificate on successful completion of the course. The training provides the qualification to operate the three most common types of forklifts – the Counterbalance, Reach Truck and Power Pallet – in a safe and competent manner as outlined in Irish Health & Safety Legislation.

  1. Introduction to the three forklifts
  2. Pre-use inspection and take over maintenance
  3. Controls and instruments
  4. Weight assessment
  5. Starting, moving off and stopping
  6. Handling both laden and unladen pallets
  7. Operation of the hydraulic controls
  8. Stacking and de-stacking – free standing and in racking
  9. Practical test of basic operating skills
  10. Written test of operating knowledge
